Important game to mention about took place in Mondeville. Seventh ranked Mondeville (3-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Lyon (2-3) 62-61 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lyon won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Canadian forward Kimberley Gaucher-Smith (185-84, college: Utah) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85, agency: Comsport) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jenny Fouasseau (179-92) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Lyon. Mondeville moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Lyon at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Nice and Nantes. Mondeville will play against league's leader Basket Landes in Mont de Marsan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lyon will play at home against Hainaut (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
