Regular Season Round 5: COB Calais - Dunkerque 57-55
Date: October 29, 2016
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked COB Calais (4-1) edged at home 11th ranked Dunkerque (1-4) 57-55 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Dunkerque was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 16-9 charge of COB Calais, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Dunkerque outrebounded COB Calais 34-21 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Shawnta Dyer (185-91, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) who scored 21 points. Forward Margaux Okou-Zouzouo (184-93) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Anais Viale (188-91) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and Latvia center Aija Brumermane (192-86) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for COB Calais. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Avenir. Loser Dunkerque keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. COB Calais will face Aulnoye (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dunkerque will play against Toulouse and hope to win that game.
