There was no surprise when 10th ranked Udine Delser (1-3) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Ferrara (2-1) 56-48 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. Ferrara dominated on the defensive end, holding Udine Delser to just 5 points in second quarter. Strangely Udine Delser outrebounded Ferrara 43-28 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Udine Delser was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Rosa Cupido (173-92) fired 14 points for the winners. Power forward Liliana Miccio (182-89) chipped in 17 points. Nigeria-British swingman Ejay Ofomata (180-86, college: Central State) produced 7 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Eva Da Pozzo (182-95) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ferrara maintains sixth position in A2 with 2-1 record. Newly promoted Udine Delser keeps the tenth place with three games lost. Ferrara will face Pordenone (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Udine Delser will play against Vicenza and hope to win that game.
