Regular Season Round 5: CFBB - Reims 55-86

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 86-55 loss to seventh ranked Reims (3-2) in Paris on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Reims led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Reims forced 24 CFBB turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Reims especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was swingman Clementine Samson (181-91) who scored 24 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (192-82) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Reims players scored in double figures. Forward Emmanuelle Tahane (180-99) produced 6 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) added 8 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Reims moved-up to sixth place, which they share with SIG. CFBB lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Reims will face league's second-placed Bretagne Basket in Pleyber-Christ in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play on the road against Montbrison (#12) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
