Regular Season Round 12: Shiga L-Stars - Ryukyu GK 75-84

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-10) were defeated at home by third ranked Ryukyu GK (7-5) 84-75 on Sunday. Shiga L-Stars were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Ryukyu GK made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Ryukyu GK 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) who added 16 points during the contest. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Samba Faye (205-87) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Ryukyu GK maintains third position with 7-5 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Shiga L-Stars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Osaka Evessa (#4) at home in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against the league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and hope to win that game.
