Regular Season Round 6: Guadalajara - Alcobendas 73-80

There was no surprise when 13th ranked CB Guadalajara (1-4) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Alcobendas (4-2) 80-73 on Sunday. CB Guadalajara trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 27-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-80 at the end of the game. CB Guadalajara was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Hector Jimenez (183-94) who scored 19 points and 5 assists. Forward Alberto Martin (197-89) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Gambia guard Leroy Isler (196-91, college: UALR) who recorded 26 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Rafael Molina (202-89) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alcobendas moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Gran Canaria B and Azuqueca. Newly promoted CB Guadalajara keeps the thirteenth position with four games lost. Alcobendas will face league's second-placed Real Canoe in Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CB Guadalajara will play on the road against the league's leader La Roda (#1) and hope to win that game.
