Regular Season Round 10: Hitachi Cougars - Denso Iris 61-81

The game in Hitachinaka supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Denso Iris (7-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-6). Denso Iris did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 81-61. It looked good early as Hitachi Cougars took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Denso Iris had a 25-17 second period charge getting the lead and Hitachi Cougars were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-81. They outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 55-29 including a 28-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Hitachi Cougars helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. International center Sakura Akaho (182-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Yuki Kitamura (170-94) replied with 22 points and power forward Chika Suzuki (183-93) added 11 points in the effort for Hitachi Cougars. Hitachi Cougars' coach Yabuuchi Natsumi rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Denso Iris have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-1 record behind leader JX-Eneos S. Hitachi Cougars lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with six games lost. Denso Iris' next round opponent will be Toyota B SR (#7) in Aichi. Hitachi Cougars will play on the road against Chanson V-M in Shizuoka and hope to win that game.
