Regular Season Round 4: Asseco - Polfarmex Kutno 73-67

There was a minor upset in Gdynia where higher ranked AZS Polfarmex (2-2) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Asseco (2-2) 73-67 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But AZS Polfarmex won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Asseco won last quarter 18-13. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and international guard Filip Matczak (187-93) who added 17 points during the contest. At the losing side the former international Dardan Berisha (191-88) responded with 21 points and Canadian center Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklah.Baptist) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Asseco moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated AZS Polfarmex. Asseco will face AZS Koszalin (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
