Regular Season Round 6: Ardoi - Venta de Banos 92-84

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ardoi as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A-A. Ardoi defeated bottom-ranked Venta de Banos in Zizur Mayor 92-84. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 21 after three quarters before a 27-14 last quarter charge of Venta de Banos cut the lead to 92-84 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Venta de Banos 43-31 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Oscar Gomez (203-93) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Ardoi players scored in double figures. Estonia Robert Valge (192-97) replied with 28 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Daniel Manchon (191-98) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Venta de Banos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ardoi have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Estela. Venta de Banos at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Venta de Banos will play next round against Burgos trying to get back on the winning streak. Ardoi will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Valle de Egues at Olaz.
