Regular Season Round 12: Aomori Watts - Iwate Big Bulls 66-65

Sixth-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (1-11) were very close to win a game against fifth ranked Aomori Watts (6-6). Aomori Watts managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 25-21 run, which allowed them to win the game. Aomori Watts made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Iwate Big Bulls were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Makoto Sawaguchi (184-91) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aomori Watts moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Yamagata. Iwate Big Bulls lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Kagoshima. Aomori Watts will play against league's leader Gunma on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Iwate Big Bulls will have a break next round.
