Regular Season Round 7: Pelplin - AZS PGd 82-74

The biggest surprise took place in Pelpin where host Pelplin (5-0) beat AZS PGd (5-2) 82-74 on Sunday evening. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Pelplin made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by AZS PGd helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) fired 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Karol Debski (198-84, agency: Promotex) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Pelplin's coach Przemyslaw Bielinski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Przemyslaw Rduch (208-86) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Daniel Szlapka (188-92) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four AZS PGd players scored in double figures. Pelplin have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of Group A leader. AZS PGd at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Asseco II. They were replaced at the leadership position by AZS PK. AZS PGd will play next round against Domino Inowr. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Pelplin will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Asseco II in Gdynia.
