Regular Season Round 5: Oulun NMKY - FoKoPo 85-76

There was an upset when 4th placed Forssan Koripojat (3-3) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Oulun NMKY (2-4) 85-76 on Sunday. Forssan Koripojat was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Forssan Koripojat 44-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Jaron Jones (198-89, college: E.Kentucky) who scored 23 points and 8 assists. Guard Zach Stahl (196, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Bruce Reed (202-90, college: Pikeville) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds and guard Shamarr Bowden (196-89, college: E.Carolina) added 24 points respectively for the guests. Forssan Koripojat's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Oulun NMKY maintains ninth place in Division with 2-4 record. Loser Forssan Koripojat dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Oulun NMKY will face higher ranked Jarvenpaa (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Forssan Koripojat will play against Espoo United and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
