Regular Season Round 6: Panteras - Indios 88-96

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Panteras (4-2) against tenth ranked Ciudad (2-4) on Sunday night. Host Panteras were defeated by Ciudad in a tough game in Aguascalientes 88-96. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Panteras. Ciudad looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard John Taylor (185-89, college: Fresno Pacific) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Taylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Cuba center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Fabian Jaimes (198-92) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Ciudad and four Panteras players scored in double figures. Panteras' coach Allans Colon tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ciudad moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Correcaminos and Santos. Loser Panteras keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Toros. Ciudad will meet at home bottom-ranked Barreteros (#10) in the next round. Panteras will play against Correcaminos (#7) in Ciudad Victoria and hope to secure a win.
