Regular Season Round 12: Chiba Jets - Toyota Alvark 70-82

There was no surprise when 4th ranked Chiba Jets (5-7) were defeated at home by second ranked Toyota Alvark (10-2) 82-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Chiba Jets was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyota Alvark made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) who added 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 22 rebounds and international power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tochigi Brex. Loser Chiba Jets keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round. Chiba Jets will play on the road against Sendai 89ers (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
