Regular Season Round 6: AZS UMCS - TS Ostrovia 67-51

There was no surprise in Lublin where 9th ranked TS Ostrovia (1-5) was defeated by seventh ranked AZS UMCS (4-2) 67-51. TS Ostrovia was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 24-4 third quarter run of AZS UMCS. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TS Ostrovia to just 4 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to TS Ostrovia's 26. Australia forward Tess Madgen (180-90) notched 21 points to lead the effort and Nigeria forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Two Points) supported her with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four AZS UMCS players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Azia Capri Bishop (190-93, college: Kentucky, agency: Merit Management Group) did not help to save the game for TS Ostrovia. Her fellow American import point guard Jordan Jones (168-93, college: Texas A&M) added 12 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS UMCS moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. TS Ostrovia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with five games lost. AZS UMCS's next round opponent will be CCC Polkowice (#4) on the road. TS Ostrovia will play against Sleza Wroclaw (#3) and hope to win that game.
