Regular Season Round 12: Kagawa FA - Kagoshima 78-62

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Kagawa FA's (3-9) home victory over 6th ranked Kagoshima (1-11) in Takamatsu 78-62 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a good game for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Shinobu Kon (190-87) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) replied with 30 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ryuichiro Nakazono (190-78) added 12 points in the effort for Kagoshima. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagawa FA maintains fifth position with 3-9 record, which they share with Tokyo Excel. Kagoshima lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Kagawa FA will face league's leader Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kagoshima will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kumamoto V. (#2) and hope to win that game.
