Regular Season Round 11: Hispano Am. - Quilmes MP 73-84

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Hispano Am.'s (1-9) home loss to ninth ranked Quilmes MP (4-9) in Rio Gallegos 73-84 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Quilmes MP. Hispano Am. was better in third quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Hispano Am. outrebounded Quilmes MP 41-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. International power forward Ivan Basualdo (202-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. International guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) contributed with 23 points for the winners. American power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Gonzalo Torres (202-94) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hispano Am.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quilmes MP moved-up to eighth place in Sur. Hispano Am. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Quilmes MP will face league's second-placed Weber Bahia in Bahia Blanca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hispano Am. will play at home against Obras Basket (#7) and hope to win that game.
