Regular Season Round 5: Pyrinto II - Jarvenpaa 63-79

There was no surprise in Tampere where 10th ranked Pyrinto II (1-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Jarvenpaa (3-1) 79-63 on Monday. The game without a history. Jarvenpaa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Jarvenpaa outrebounded Pyrinto II 44-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Gambia power forward Pierre Jallow (203-79, college: William Jewell) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (191-81) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Jarvenpaa players scored in double figures. Guard Eero Lehtinen (194-85) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Kristian Rasinaho (192-93) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Jarvenpaa moved-up to fourth place in Division. Loser Pyrinto II keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Jarvenpaa will face Oulun NMKY (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pyrinto II will play against Porvoon Tarmo and hope to win that game.
