Regular Season Round 7: Sichuan - Bayi 70-71

Important game to mention about took place in Sichuan. Fifth ranked Bayi Kylin (5-2) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 10th ranked Whale (2-5) 71-70 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was a very good performance for the former international center Liting Zhang (199-94) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). International forward MengXin Sun (190-93) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American center Stefanie Dolson (196-92, college: Connecticut) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and guard Fangzhu Gong (170-91) added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Whale. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bayi Kylin moved-up to third place, which they share with Shenyang. Newly promoted Whale dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Bayi Kylin will face bottom-ranked Shandong (#12) in Jinan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Whale will play at home against Shanghai Dahua and hope to win that game.
