Regular Season Round 4: Ramat Hasharon - Ironi Nes-Ziona 69-86

Another exciting game was played in Ramat Hasharon between third ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona and one of their biggest challengers Hasharon where Ironi Nes-Ziona (3-1) beat Hasharon (2-2) on the road with 17-point difference 86-69. Hasharon was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 48-29 second half run of Ironi Nes-Ziona. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hasharon's 32. Ironi Nes-Ziona had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) contributed with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American center Derrick Caracter (206-88, college: UTEP) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Rom Cornelius (197-93) added 10 points and 6 assists in the effort for Hasharon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ironi Nes-Ziona moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel B/S. Hasharon at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Ironi Kiryat Ata (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hasharon will play against Ironi Ramat Gan (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
