Regular Season Round 8: Guangdong - Henan 75-82

WCBA top team - Henan (7-1) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked Guangdong Dolphins (4-4) in Guangzhou 82-75. The best player for the winners was Nigeria-American forward Chiney Ogwumike (193-92, college: Stanford) who had a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Jie Sun (187-91) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Sijing Huang (192-96) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Guangdong Dolphins players scored in double figures. Henan maintains first position with 7-1 record. Loser Guangdong Dolphins keep the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Beijing. Henan will meet at home Whale (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Guangdong Dolphins will play against Bayi Kylin (#3) and hope to secure a win.
