Regular Season Round 4: Tsmoki II - Impuls BGUIR 74-65

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Impuls BGUIR (2-1) in Minsk on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by top-ranked Tsmoki II (3-0) 74-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Impuls BGUIR. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But Impuls BGUIR won second period 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Tsmoki II won last quarter 18-11. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Andrei Rogozenko (180-97) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Point guard Andrey Stavrovskiy (185-97) contributed with 13 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Tsmoki II players scored in double figures. Tsmoki II's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Kiril Volodkin (190-91) replied with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international guard Maksim Shustov (186-86) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Impuls BGUIR. Tsmoki II have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Grodno-93. Impuls BGUIR at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Tsmoki II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Impuls BGUIR.
