Regular Season Round 3: Beikong FD - Qingdao E. 110-111

A very interesting game took place in Beijing. It ended with only one-point home defeat of North Control (0-3) to Qingdao Eagles (2-1) 111-110 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Qingdao Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to North Control's 46. 31 personal fouls committed by North Control helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) who saved his team from a defeat with 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) contributed with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) answered with 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) added 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) in the effort for North Control. Four North Control players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Qingdao Eagles' next round opponent will be Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#4) in Hangzhou. North Control will play at home against Bayi Rockets (#16) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
