Regular Season Round 13: Gunma - Aomori Watts 91-80

B League D2 top team - Gunma (10-3) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Aomori Watts (6-7) 91-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aomori Watts. The game was mostly controlled by Gunma. Aomori Watts managed to win second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gunma forced 19 Aomori Watts turnovers. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) fired 29 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and guard Daichi Shimoyama (181-89) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunma maintains first place with 10-3 record. Loser Aomori Watts keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Gunma will again meet at home Aomori Watts (#5) in the next round. Aomori Watts will have a break next round.
