Regular Season Round 4: Kutaisi - Olimpi 80-71

Very expected game when 6th ranked Olimpi (1-3) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kutaisi (3-1) 80-71 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 41-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kutaisi outrebounded Olimpi 50-36 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) fired 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashaev (188-83) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Kutaisi's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Tre Burnette (196, college: S.Dakota) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) added 12 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Four Kutaisi and five Olimpi players scored in double figures. Kutaisi have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Dinamo Tbilisi, which they share with Rustavi. Loser Olimpi keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Kutaisi will meet Batumi (#5) on the road in the next round. Olimpi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Sokhumi.
