Regular Season Round 7: Caceres - Gipuzkoa GBC 73-58

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Gipuzkoa (5-2) against seventeenth ranked Caceres Basket (2-4) on Friday night. Visiting Gipuzkoa was defeated by Caceres Basket in Caceres 73-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa. Gipuzkoa was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Caceres Basket forced 19 Gipuzkoa turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard J.C. Fuller (193, college: W.Illinois) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 5 rebounds. Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side point guard Ricardo Uriz (188-80) responded with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Sergi Pino (197-87, agency: Interperformances) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caceres Basket moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Castello. Gipuzkoa at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Breogan and Palencia. Caceres Basket will play against Melilla Baloncesto (#17) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gipuzkoa will play against Palencia Baloncesto (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
