Date: November 4, 2016
BSEU-GrandPrint's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Brest (0-3) 97-88 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-18. But Brest won second period 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BSEU-GrandPrint made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Brest turnovers. Strangely Brest outrebounded BSEU-GrandPrint 49-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by point guard Dmitriy Roslikau (183-95) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!) and power forward Vitaliy Lebedev (200-99) supported him with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by swingman Pavel Moroz (193-88) did not help to save the game for Brest. Forward Konstantin Solyshko (196-96) added 15 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. BSEU-GrandPrint maintains sixth position with 1-2 record. Newly promoted Brest still closes the standings with three games lost. BSEU-GrandPrint will again meet at home Brest (#8) in the next round. Brest will have a break next round.
