Regular Season Round 7: Forca Lleida - Prat 67-65

The most exciting game of round 7 in the LEB Gold took place in Lleida. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked CB Prat (3-4) to second ranked Lleida Basquet (6-1) 67-65 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-14. But CB Prat won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lleida Basquet dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to CB Prat's 28. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. Brazilian forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-94) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Xavier Forcada (194-88) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and Pep Ortega (201-84) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for CB Prat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lleida Basquet keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Coruna. CB Prat lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. Lleida Basquet is looking forward to face Castello (#13) in Castellon in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CB Prat will play at home against Leche Rio Breogan and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
