LEB Gold top team - Leyma Basquet (6-1) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat eighteenth ranked Cocinas.com (0-7) in Logrono 96-85. The game was mostly controlled by Leyma Basquet. Cocinas.com managed to win fourth quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leyma Basquet shot 62.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Leyma Basquet looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a quality performance for center Sergio Olmos (213-86, college: Temple) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Javier Lucas (207-87) accounted for 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Ukrainian power forward Volodymyr Gerun (208-94, college: Portland) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Alberto Ruiz de Galarreta (198-83) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for Cocinas.com in the defeat.
