Regular Season Round 13: Ehime OV - Shimane SM 72-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in Matsuyama. 4th placed host Orange Vikings (4-9) lost to third ranked Shimane Magic (9-4) 77-72. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-72. American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and Yokoo Tatsuhiro (186-85) chipped in 27 points. At the losing side guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Shimane Magic maintains third place with 9-4 record having just one point less than leader Gunma. Orange Vikings lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Orange Vikings will play again at home against Shimane Magic (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
