Regular Season Round 6: BrGU - Olimpia 36-102

Bottom-ranked BrGU COR Victoria (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 102-36 loss to third ranked Olimpia GrGAU (3-1) in Brest. The game without a history. Olimpia GrGAU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BrGU COR Victoria to just 5 points in third quarter. Olimpia GrGAU dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to BrGU COR Victoria's 26. It was a good game for swingman Arina Masko (175-99) who led her team to a victory with 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Swingman Tatyana Mikhnevich (174-99) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Olimpia GrGAU players scored in double figures. Guard Khrystina Batsanova (165-96) replied with 11 points and Liudmila Karynchuk (170-95) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BrGU COR Victoria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia GrGAU maintains third position with 3-1 record having just three points less than leader Gorizont. BrGU COR Victoria at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Olimpia GrGAU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Grodno Victoria.
