Regular Season Round 7: Tromso - Gimle BBK 64-79

The game in Tromso was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Gimle BBK (6-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Tromso (2-7). Gimle BBK defeated Tromso 79-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle BBK. Tromso was better in fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gimle BBK dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tromso's 22. They outrebounded Tromso 53-28 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Nick Victor (196-92, college: Yale) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. Forward Anders Solem (196-92) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Aslak Smalas (186-89) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Gimle BBK. They moved-up to third place. Loser Tromso dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Gimle BBK will face league's second-placed Kongsberg at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tromso will play against Asker Aliens (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
