Regular Season Round 7: Benidorm - Cartagena 76-75

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Benidorm (3-2) edged at home bottom-ranked Cartagena (0-5) 76-75 on Saturday. Cartagena was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-20 charge of Benidorm, which allowed them to win the game. Benidorm outrebounded Cartagena 50-37 including a 41-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Quite impressive performance for forward Julian Lewis (196, college: Lewis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds. Forward Joscar Demby (203-88, college: Millikin) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Benidorm's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Tylor Wimbish (201, college: Mo.-St.Louis) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and guard Jared Grady (190-89, college: Indianapolis) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cartagena. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Benidorm moved-up to fifth place in Group E. Cartagena lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Benidorm will face Sagunto (#6) in Gilet in the next round. Cartagena will play at home against the league's second-placed UCAM Murcia II and hopes to get finally their first victory.
