Regular Season Round 8: Koscian - Slask Wroclaw 56-78

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Slask (7-0) outplayed on the road 6th ranked Koscian (4-4) 78-56 on Saturday. Slask held Koscian to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Slask outrebounded Koscian 47-33 including 38 on the defensive glass. Koscian was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Aleksander Dziewa (206-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Maciej Krakowczyk (200-96) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Slask players scored in double figures. Forward Waldemar Kabat (196-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Pawel Ciazkowski (190-86) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Koscian. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slask have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group D leader. Loser Koscian keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Slask will face Nowa Sol (#13) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
