Regular Season Round 7: AEC Collblanc - Martorell 78-76

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked AEC Collblanc (3-2) edged leader Martorell (5-1) in L´Hospitalet 78-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-76. It was a very good performance for forward Ignasi Belver (197-94) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Angel Soto (205-90) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four AEC Collblanc players scored in double figures. Point guard Cristian Oliva (185-82) answered with 24 points and guard Guillem Jou (196) added 5 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Martorell. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. AEC Collblanc moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A, which they share with Arenys and Calvia. Loser Martorell still keeps top position with one game lost. AEC Collblanc will face league's second-placed Menorca in Mahon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Martorell will play against Calvia and hope to win that game.
