Regular Season Round 5: Doxa Pefkon - GS Larissas 73-56

An interesting game took place in Pefkon where 11th ranked GS Larissas (1-4) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Doxa Pefkon (2-3) 73-56 on Saturday. GS Larissas was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Norwegian forward Karamo Jawara (203-91, college: N.C.Central) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Apostolos Naoumis (198-93) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian guard Stefan Nikolic (193-87) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Sotiris Gioulekas (203-79) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Doxa Pefkon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Amyntas Dafnis and Psyhiko. GS Larissas lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. Doxa Pefkon will face higher ranked Doukas (#3) in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GS Larissas will play at home against Aiolos Astakou (#6) and hope to win that game.
