Regular Season Round 14: Bambitious Nara - Nishinomiya S. 93-77

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Bambitious Nara (5-8) beat at home second-ranked Nishinomiya S. (10-3) 93-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bambitious Nara. Nishinomiya S. was better in second period 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) who scored 23 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Daiki Terashita (190-80) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Bambitious Nara's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Australia center Jordan Vandenberg (216-90, college: N.Carolina St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Bambitious Nara and four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Bambitious Nara moved-up to third place, which they share with Tokyo Z. Nishinomiya S. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Bambitious Nara will face again league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
