Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Kagoshima (1-13) was outplayed on the road by second ranked Kumamoto V. (12-2) 94-69 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kumamoto V. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 46. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Kagoshima's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Ryota Nakanishi (199-88) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Kazuto Sameshima (171-92) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hiroshima D. Kagoshima lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
