Rather expected game in Olavarria where 4th ranked Petr.Argentino (2-4) was defeated by first ranked Estudiantes O. (5-2) 79-71 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Petr.Argentino won second period 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Petr.Argentino 40-28 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Petr.Argentino was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Santiago Arese (196-87) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Diego Figueredo (185-91) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Estudiantes O. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Venezuela forward Hernan Salcedo (198-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Facundo Gago (177-96) added 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively. Petr.Argentino's coach Daniel Jaule tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Estudiantes O. maintains first position with 5-2 record. Petr.Argentino lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
