Regular Season Round 7: Orleans - Hyeres-Toulon 67-70

A very interesting game took place in Orleans. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 14th ranked Entente Orleans 45 (2-5) to twelfth ranked Hyeres-Toulon (3-4) 70-67 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Entente Orleans 45 took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hyeres-Toulon had a 17-9 second period charge getting the lead and Entente Orleans 45 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-70. Hyeres-Toulon forced 20 Entente Orleans 45 turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Nigeria-American Ike Joseph Udanoh (203-89, college: Wayne St., MI, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. William Howard (201-93) accounted for 21 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Hyeres-Toulon's coach Kyle Milling allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American swingman Micah Downs (195-86, college: Gonzaga) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Kyle McAlarney (183-87, college: Notre Dame) added 12 points respectively for Entente Orleans 45 in the defeat. Hyeres-Toulon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Entente Orleans 45 at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Hyeres-Toulon's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Pau-Lacq-Orthez at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Entente Orleans 45 will play against Le Portel (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
