Regular Season Round 5: Polpharma - Rosa Radom 69-54

There was an upset in Starogard where 4th placed Rosa (3-3) was defeated by ninth ranked Polpharma (3-2) 69-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Polpharma led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Polpharma made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Lithuania center Martynas Sajus (208-96) who scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Naturalized American swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo., agency: Court Side) chipped in 15 points. Four Polpharma players scored in double figures. American point guard Tyrone Brazelton (184-86, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Higher Vision Sports) produced 11 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Darnell Jackson (206-85, college: Kansas) added 4 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Polpharma moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Rosa dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Polpharma will face league's leader Twarde Pierniki in Torun in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rosa will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#5) and hope to win that game.
