Regular Season Round 7: Oostende - Aalstar 79-56

The game between third ranked Okapi Aalstar (4-3) and sixth ranked Oostende (4-3) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Okapi Aalstar was crushed by Oostende in Oostende 56-79. They made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Oostende outrebounded Okapi Aalstar 47-36 including 33 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Oostende made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian guard Dusan Djordjevic (193-83, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Jean Salumu (193-90) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Oostende players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Olivier Troisfontaines (192-89, agency: LBM Management) answered with 15 points and Samoa-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Okapi Aalstar. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Mons-Hainaut and Aalstar. Oostende is looking forward to face league's leader Antwerp Giants at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Okapi Aalstar will play against Leuven Bears and is hoping to win this game.
