Regular Season Round 7: Le Mans - Cholet 71-65

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Le Mans (3-4) defeated at home higher ranked Cholet Basket (3-4) 71-65 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cholet Basket won third quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Le Mans won last quarter 19-14. Cholet Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: BeoBasket) fired 16 points for the winners. Canadian guard Olivier Hanlan (193-93, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) produced 17 points and the other American import swingman David Noel (201-84, college: N.Carolina) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Le Mans moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Cholet Basket. Le Mans will face higher ranked Paris-Levallois (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
