Regular Season Round 6: Ylli - Kerasan 95-60

Bottom-ranked Kerasan (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-60 loss to sixth ranked Ylli (2-3) in Suhareke on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Ylli led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Kerasan's 36. Ylli forced 30 Kerasan turnovers and outrebounded them 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Kerasan's players. The former international center Urim Zenelaj (213-91, agency: Interperformances) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Malcolm Canada (191, college: Auburn) chipped in 23 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Ylli players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Genc Gashi (187-97) with 14 points and 4 assists and forward Gent Shala (197-98) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ylli moved-up to fifth place. Loser Kerasan still closes the standings with six games lost. Ylli will meet Vellaznimi (#7) in the next round. Kerasan will play against Trepca and hopes to get finally their first victory.
