Regular Season Round 5: Polfarmex Kutno - Start Lublin 78-74
Date: November 5, 2016
Bottom-ranked TBV Start (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 78-74 loss to eleventh ranked AZS Polfarmex (3-2) in Kutno. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TBV Start won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Canadian center Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklah.Baptist) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and swingman Jacek Jarecki (196-88) accounted for 20 points. American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St., agency: Inception Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Doug Wiggins (183-88, college: Mountain St.) added 17 points respectively for TBV Start in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TBV Start's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AZS Polfarmex moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. TBV Start lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. AZS Polfarmex's next round opponent will be Anwil (#12) in Wloclawek which should be theoretically an easy game. TBV Start will play at home against AZS Koszalin (#14) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
