Regular Season Round 8: Cadi La Seu - Zamarat 74-58

Date: November 5, 2016
No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Cadi La Seu (4-4) beat 12th ranked Zamarat (2-6) in Seu D'urgell 74-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cadi La Seu. Zamarat was better in fourth quarter 19-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zamarat to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Zamarat 32-18 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. International Belen Arrojo (188-95, agency: Regeneracom Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Mali power forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Cadi La Seu's coach Joan Carles Pie used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Starr Breedlove (168-93, college: UTEP) replied with 13 points and 6 assists and Nigeria forward Ijeoma Uchendu (185-92, college: Butler) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Zamarat. Cadi La Seu moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bembibre. Loser Zamarat dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Cadi La Seu will face CREF Hola (#11) in Madrid in the next round where they are favorite. Zamarat will play at home against Gipuzkoa UPV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
