Regular Season Round 7: Cazorla - Coin 71-78

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Coin (2-3) defeated on the road 6th ranked Cazorla (2-3) 78-71 on Saturday. Cazorla trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 20-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-78 at the end of the game. Coin forced 20 Cazorla turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Francisco Robles (191-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Center Juan Vasco (200-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard K.J. Bluford (185, college: E.Kentucky) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Vadal Faniel (201, college: Texas A&M Int.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Cazorla. Cazorla's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Coin moved-up to fourth place in Group D-A, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Cazorla. Cazorla lost their third game in a row. Coin will face league's second-placed Meridiano Baza in Alicante in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cazorla will play on the road against Andujar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
