Regular Season Round 6: Montbrison - CFBB 81-54

Bottom-ranked CFBB is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to twelfth ranked Montbrison (2-4) 81-54 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 27 points. Montbrison dominated on the defensive end, holding CFBB to just 6 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. Montbrison forced 21 CFBB turnovers. Strangely CFBB outrebounded Montbrison 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Aurelia Bouillon (168-88) contributed with 18 points, 7 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Four Montbrison players scored in double figures. Swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Emmanuelle Tahane (180-99) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for CFBB. CFBB's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Montbrison moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with six games lost. Montbrison will face higher ranked Toulouse (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CFBB will play against Aulnoye (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
