No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (7-6) defeated on the road 6th ranked Toyama Grouses (1-12) 79-73 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Hitachi Sunrockers had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) fired 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Forward Naoki Uto (188-91) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Toyama Grouses' coach Bob Nash tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to third place, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Ryukyu GK. Toyama Grouses lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round. Toyama Grouses will play again at home against Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
