Regular Season Round 7: Energa Torun - Artego Bydg. 72-64

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Energa Torun and 6th ranked Artego Bydg. had identical 4-2 record. This time Energa Torun used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bydgoszcz 72-64. Energa Torun players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American center Kelley Cain (198-89, college: Tennessee) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international point guard Weronika Gajda (174-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 assists and 5 steals. Four Energa Torun players scored in double figures. Jamaica-American point guard Maurita Reid (172-85, college: Miami, FL) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Denesha Stallworth (190-92, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her ten free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Energa Torun (5-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Artego Bydg. at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Energa Torun's next round opponent will be league's leader Wisla Can-Pack in Krakow and it will be for sure the game of the week. Artego Bydg. will play at home against JAS FBG (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
